ABOUT

DAVIS HOMENUCK

Born and raised in Port Perry, Ontario, Davis Homenuck graduated from the Bachelor of Film and Media Production program at Humber Polytechnic in 2026. He began his school career as an editor but quickly developed a passion for the fast-paced, collaborative environment of on-set production, most often but not exclusively settling into roles as a grip and director.

Davis has directed multiple short films, primarily within surrealist horror and thriller genres, pushing personal limits of student filmmaking through experimental visuals and unconventional narrative structures. His capstone project, a 15-minute surrealist horror film that he wrote and developed, stands as his most significant directing achievement thus far. His work has earned Best Film at the Durham (U.K) Film Festival, Best Innovation in a Film at the Current Cut Film Festival, and a nomination for Best Canadian Drama (5–20 minutes) at the Couch Film Festival.

Davis continues his nightmare-like visual style into his photography where he continues his experimentation not only in staged shoots and street photography but in events such amateur wrestling and raves. A collection of stills used as a proof of concept for his capstone film were nominated for best Horror photo at The Anatomy Crime: Horror International Film Festival in Athens, Greece.

Currently, Davis works as a grip on feature films and shorts, applying prior experience in construction and manual labour to long, demanding, collaborative productions while he continues to develop his Directing and Photography portfolio.
